A Ganar Training Program
Although it has a strange sounding name (its actually Spanish for "to win" or "to earn") the A Ganar Training Program is set to have a big impact on youth in the Oracabessa area
Focusing on youth ages 16-24, A Ganar uses a unique sport-based methodology to impart knowledge and is often called "The workforce development tool wrapped up in a football." Right up our alley!
We currently have 15 youth (4 females and 11 males) enrolled in the program which started March 22. For the next 6 weeks they'll be doing the sport-based workplace skills training phase. Once completed they'll do 6 weeks of vocational training in landscaping followed by another 6 weeks of work experience in local hotels.
The whole purpose of the program is to get at-risk youth into the workforce and we're sure the Oracabessa A Ganar Training Program will do just that!
