Wardens are officially patrolling the area as of 6am this morning.  5 local fishermen - and one fisherwoman - taking up the task of enforcing the no fishing zone (and helping to secure the long term sustainability of their livelihoods). Its been a crazy two months for the Oracabessa Foundation!  In February we were busy helping the <a href="http://www.smorba.com" rel="self">St. Mary Off-Road Bicycling Association</a> (SMORBA) with the <a href="http://www.smorba.com/jamaica_fat_tyre_festival.html" rel="self">Jamaica Fat Tyre Festival</a> and <a href="http://www.smorba.com/jamaica_bicycle_bash.html" rel="self">Jamaica Bicycle Bash</a>.  Both events went extremely well and we&rsquo;ll update you as the press bits start to come out.  <br /><br />As soon as we got off our bicycles we hit the ground running with our brand-new <a href="http://www.partners.net/partners/Aganar_Home_EN.asp" rel="self">A Ganar</a> training program.  15 youths (4 females, 11 males) ages 16-24 are enrolled and will be receiving workplace skill training over the next 18 weeks.  Its unique sport-based methodology has been very successful in Latin America and we&rsquo;re hoping to repeat the results here in Oracabessa!  <br /><br />Of course, all this action comes in addition to our slow methodical work with the fish sanctuary, HEART Training centre and various other sports projects.
